Greetings Chinook Middle School Community,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend in recognition of Veterans Day.
Last Friday, Chinook students gathered to honor veterans in our school and community during a special assembly. The assembly featured wonderful performances by our Band, Choir, and Orchestra, along with thoughtful student speakers. It was a meaningful tribute, and I am very proud of our students for the appreciation and respect they displayed for our veterans.
Thank you to all veterans in our community and beyond, your contributions are deeply valued and appreciated.
In gratitude and partnership,
James Peterson
Test of BSD’s Emergency Communication System
On Wednesday, November 20 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., the district will conduct a test of our emergency communication system, SchoolMessenger. BSD families will receive a phone call, text message and email to the primary contact information they have provided in ParentVUE — which families are asked to verify at the beginning of every school year. The purpose of this test is to ensure that BSD families are able to receive district messages in the event of school delays, closures or emergencies.

REFLECTIONS
"Accepting Imperfection"
Due November 20th
Parent Information Zoom tonight (Tuesday) at 7pm
Our Reflections program is currently accepting submissions. This is a national program, and we strongly encourage our students to participate. Reflections is a wonderful avenue for our creative kids to express themselves through dance, photography, digital art, creative writing and more. Not only is it rewarding in its own right, but also a chance to build up their portfolio and achievements for those wishing to pursue the arts after high school. This is a low risk but high reward opportunity and it would be so exciting to have your student's work showcased!! Please contact Chelsea at Reflections@chinookptsa.org.
