Greetings Chinook Middle School Community,
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. With just six weeks remaining, there are many exciting events and important milestones ahead. Let’s finish the year strong by helping our students stay focused, engaged, and ready to celebrate their accomplishments.
Thank you for being a vital part of our Chinook community!
Best regards,
James Peterson
E-Bike Safety
We’ve recently seen an increase in students riding e-bikes in the parking areas after school. Staff have observed several unsafe behaviors, including:
- Riding without a helmet
- Riding with multiple passengers
- Traveling at a high rate of speed
- Parking bikes in areas meant for buses
We encourage families to talk with their students about bike and e-bike safety.
Thank you for helping keep our students and campus safe after school.

Important Safety Reminder Regarding Online Challenges
We want to make you aware of a concerning social media challenge currently circulating on TikTok that encourages students to insert objects into USB ports — such as those on Chromebooks — in an attempt to start a fire. This behavior poses serious safety risks to students and others and can cause significant damage to school property.
We ask that you speak with your student(s) about the dangers of participating in online challenges that promote unsafe or destructive behavior. Actions like this not only put individuals at risk but may also result in financial responsibility for damages.
Per District Policy 3520: Student Fees, Fines, or Charges, families are responsible for replacing materials or property lost or damaged due to negligence.
Your partnership in reinforcing safe and responsible technology use is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your school administration.
Thank you for your support in keeping our students and schools safe.

Our lost and found in the commons is overflowing with items. Coats, sweatshirts and water bottles are the bulk.
